HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SESSION

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SESSION

Think outside and inside the box

What aesthetic or vibe are we going for?

Create a mood board if it helps inspire and reach the goal.

Essentially, bring whatever clothes or shoes make you FEEL GOOD. It will show!

Necklines

Scooped neck, high neck/turtle neck, off-shoulder, v necks and shirts all work well. Avoid square necks and strappy tops.

Avoid

Logos - Avoid, please, unless it is a fashion shoot where it makes absolute sense

Strappy tops -I'm afraid that thin, strappy tops can look undressed and underwhelming.

Lots of fluorescent colours - these can be very tricky to shoot

Square necklines

Colours that are too close to your skin tone

Colours

Choose colours that work with your skin tone, hair and eyes.

Try to avoid colours too close to your skin tone

Black in small doses; do not bring all-black

White is okay, but not loads; off-white is easier to shoot.

Layers work well. They can be a whole vibe if you get it right

Think about your aesthetic - would a jacket or overcoat be something you would like?

Overcoats/trenches work well

Jackets - bring at least a couple with you

Shirts can be great for layering or on their own, especially ones with a print.

Baggy and oversize is a vibe if you like it

Patterns - yes, definitely, if you can wear them well!

Power suits can work well

Make-up and Hair

I recommend natural make-up and hair looking as you prefer. Feel free to bring anything you need for touch-ups and different lipsticks to try if you like.

If you would like to use a make-up artist and hair stylist, I recommend you find one who can do that for you before you come.

Be clear with them beforehand on what you are trying to achieve since you’ll want to be happy with the result.

Allow plenty of time to correct anything you’re not satisfied with so that you can arrive on time for your session with me.

Again, bring anything you need for touch-ups, etc.

Backgrounds I like to use

I work with light and dark grey, warm orangey peach, vanilla (slightly yellowish) and off-white.

I love natural backdrops outside, and I have a few locations I like to use.
